Sitting above downtown to east is Capitol Hill, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Seattle and arguably one the main centers of Seattle culture. Known for its music venues, bars, and great restaurants, there is always something to do in this area. This neighborhood can be divided into multiple sections. In the Pike/Pine area you have more of a bar scene with lots of apartment buildings and condos, and then as you go North it becomes more residential and you start to see all the infamous Capitol Hill mansions.
There is something for everyone on Capitol Hill, whether you are looking to be in the center of it all or stay off the beaten path. Besides all the bars and restaurants, you also have the Arboretum to enjoy, as well as paddle boarding and boating on Lake Union and Portage Bay.
Capitol Hill is part of the Seattle Public School district, and has many great options to choose from. Check out this page to learn more about the different schools on Capitol Hill.
